This 1860 catalogue comprises law books sent to the Melbourne Public Library by their London supplier, Frederick Guillaume. Arranged alphabetically by author and title it contains approximately 450 volumes and contains detailed bibliographic information about the date and format of publication. The place of publication only appears to be included when the title is published outside of London.
The catalogue includes a number of works published in the seventeenth century, such as Richard Lane’s Reports in the Court of Exchequer in the Reign of King James (1657) and Edward Bulstrode’s Reports in King’s Bench in the Reigns of King James I. and Charles I. (1688) and even a sixteenth-century publication of De Legibus. A treatise on the laws and customs of England (1569) by Henry de Bracton.
